About Harpo Hair

Welcome to Harpo Hair, a boutique hair salon in Brighton, Melbourne, celebrating 10 years of gorgeous blow waves, vibrant colours, creamy blondes, and trendsetting styles. Founded by local entrepreneur Posey Broomhall in 2014, Harpo Hair began as a cozy one-woman salon and has grown into two buzzing locations, known for delivering a personalised, luxurious experience.

Our skilled stylists specialise in signature blow waves, the latest hair trends, precision cuts, and advanced colour techniques – from traditional foils and balayage to bold transformations – ensuring every client leaves feeling refreshed and confident. Harpo Hair’s friendly, family-style atmosphere is all about making you feel at home, with stylish interiors and a warm approach that make us one of Brighton’s favourite salons.

We’re also passionate about nurturing our hairdressing talent, from our senior stylists to our apprentices. Posey loves seeing her team thrive and considers them part of the Harpo family. Amanda, one of the first apprentices to complete her training at Harpo Hair seven years ago, is now a part-owner. Posey and Amanda lead our hands-on training program, helping team members grow their skills in a supportive environment.

Posey

Posey has been working in hair salons honing her skills since she was 14 years old, but always had the dream of owning her own. After winning ‘Apprentice of the Year’ in 2009, she knew her next goal would be working towards her lifelong goal of opening up her perfect salon – a salon in which the little things matter and customers come first.

Posey opened her first salon located on Hampton Street in Brighton in February 2014, which focused heavily on stocking the best brands in the industry and continuously training her staff to be up to date with industry trends and techniques. However, the biggest focus of the salon for Posey was ensuring that customers felt a little bit of luxury every time they visited. It is this passion for her customers which has enables Posey to open her second salon in 2017, located on Were Street, Brighton.

Posey specialises in both colouring and cutting and believes in constant education to ensure our clients get the best experience possible by truly understanding cutting edge techniques and trends. From the moment you walk in the door, to the moment you leave Posey’s number one priority is that you not only have great hair, but that you have enjoyed every element of your experience leaving relaxed and rejuvenated.

Amanda

Amanda has been working in the hairdressing industry for 10 years and brings a breadth of experience to the Harpo Hair family. Amanda joined the team in 2017 and has loved her time in the salons. Amanda finished her apprenticeship at Harpo in 2019 and her favourite colouring technique is balayage and Foiling. When she finished her training, Amanda’s skills in colour trends were beyond amazing and she posses a lot of knowledge across all types of techniques.  She loves to keep her trend knowledge as up-to-date as possible to deliver the best looks for her clients.

Amanda is a very bubbly, friendly girl & loves making her clients feel amazing when they come into the salon.

Amanda

With over 16 years of experience, Shiv is an award-winning stylist celebrated for her creative, unconventional approach to hairdressing. Recognized in InStyle magazine, she brings a fresh, bold perspective to every client.

A longtime friend and collaborator of Amanda’s, Shiv feels right at home with the Harpo Hair family. Passionate about her craft, she’s excited to continue making her mark alongside Posey, Amanda, and a team that shares her vision.

Mary

From the moment she joined, Mary felt right at home with Posey and Amanda, as if they’d been working together for years. Originally from Ireland, she moved to Melbourne last year and quickly fell in love with the vibrant St Kilda neighborhood—and of course, Harpo Hair.

 

Mary brings exceptional skill and experience to our team, having trained at one of Ireland’s top salons, Peter Mark, where she perfected her craft over 8 years. She specializes in coloring, particularly foiling, balayage, and styling. Mary’s blow-waving is Posey’s top pick!

With her outgoing personality and passion for teamwork, Mary has won the hearts of clients and colleagues alike at Harpo Hair.

Maddie

Maddie joined Harpo Hair as an apprentice in 2020, and her natural talent for hair has quickly become apparent. She is rapidly developing into an outstanding hairdresser and is already known as one of the best blow wavers at Harpo Hair. Maddie takes pleasure in chatting with her clients, making them feel fabulous, and ensuring they leave the salon with a big smile. One of Maddie’s favourite aspects of working at Harpo Hair is the passionate and fun-loving team she collaborates with.

Over the next few months, Liv will be focusing on learning the art of blow-waving. She is enthusiastic about perfecting this technique and is eager to show off her skills. Keep an eye out for blow wave specials with Liv starting in mid-2023.

Oliva

Olivia is a vibrant second-year apprentice at Harpo, already making waves with her natural talent and dedication. Trained in the signature Harpo blow-wave, she has a flair for creating bouncy, polished styles that clients love. Full of life and energy, Olivia is passionate about honing her craft and is well on her way to becoming an exceptional hairdresser. With her creativity and enthusiasm, she’s a rising star in the salon team.

Hannah has come to work with us after working with Sarah, who also taught Posey during her apprenticeship. She is a great addition to the team and fits right at home with the team.

Meet Sean, our new senior stylist at Hampton St Salon. With 15 years of experience, Sean made the move from Ireland 7 years ago and has blended seamlessly into the Harpo Family . Specialising in colour and styling , Sean’s passion for all things hair shines through every client's look.
